Ambrusch LLC was founded in 2026 to address the need for specialized design and consulting services in the DMV, including lab planning, government contract work, and comprehensive permit expediting services.  Strategically located in Silver Spring, MD, we are in the heart of the 270 Corridor and several miles from the headquarters for the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

The firm's leadership has a practiced understanding of complex project types as well as complex client organizations, bringing clarity and ease to what are otherwise highly specialized and intricate processes.  We do not simply complete projects, but rather build lasting relationships.  Reach out if you would like to learn more about our services and/or business ethos.

Expertise

Lab Planning

Architecture

We have partnered with Costar, Inc. to offer architectural services.  Project type offerings range from S&T spaces and government contracts such as NIH and NIST, to corporate interiors and offices.  Additionally, we provide due diligence and test fitting services, tailored to the specific needs of each Client.

Expediting

Ambrusch LLC brings experience from the architectural field which makes the permit application process incredibly efficient.  More detailed drawing analysis and pre-screening, from the lens of both the designer and jurisdictional contact, allows for this firm to catch more errors early in the process and subsequently reduce both cost and time for the Client.

Company Philosophy

Ambrusch LLC seeks to set a new standard for not only Client service, but rather service at all stages of a project for all parties involved.  Integrity, honesty, and accountability are paramount to our ethos, and our goal is for that to be exemplified in how we conduct business.  When working with us, you will be given frequent and prompt updates, honest feedback and opinions, and exemplary attention to detail at all stages of the project.  We have found that the success of a project does not only depend on the design, budget, or schedule, but it also depends on the service provided to you as the Client, consultant, or vendor.  You can rest assured that we value the success of each project and quality of the experience executing it as much as you do.

Lori Ellen Ambrusch

Lori has been involved in the industry since 2013, and brings enthusiasm for complex design and addressing the most minute details to make projects successful.

After earning her Bachelor of Architecture with Minors in Architectural History and Kinesiology from The Pennsylvania State University, she elected to spend two more years in academia earning her Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.  Her research focused on people-centric solutions to improve safety and infrastructure within informal settlements, as well as how to manage and mitigate gentrification while continuing to encourage revitalization (her thesis arguing that there is an important difference between gentrification and revitalization, although they are often conflated).  While working at the urban scale may not seem like the obvious trajectory for someone interested in the minutia of science and technology, the core persuasion remains the same: helping people.  Both fields deal in the intricacies of complex systems that impact people on an individual basis, and working daily to better understand these systems to create more effective spaces for scientists to thrive and ultimately help other people is highly rewarding.

Lori's experience covers a broad range of typologies, including civic, residential, office interiors, healthcare, and science and technology (S&T).  Her main specialty is in S&T, having experience across many facility and lab types; she is most excited when presented with an opportunity to work on pharmaceutical spaces.
